Scotty C specialises in horse racing, primarily betting on handicaps on the flat he focuses on finding value in higher priced runners. However he has been known to spot a plot job when others don't and spends great time in researching each of the years big festivals.

I can’t call this one. All of the front 3 in the betting have solid chances. Bet365 are boosting Facile Vega and Grey Dawning. BetMGM have an offer too so I’ll probably do that and have a small each way on Ginnys Destiny. Should be a profitable race that way.
Pertemps Handicap 2:10
Last year we had Good Time Jonny to shout home and sadly we don’t have him today. The handicapper ruined his chances for the 2024 festival. Le Milos, Cuthbert Dibble, Icare Allen and Gaoth Chuil all have good chances. I’ll be surprised to see the winner come from anywhere but those 4 but no official selection from me, I can’t tip all 4 and they are becoming a little short in the market. I might choose a couple to have a small each way on to have something to shout at the tele about but that’s it. It is Cheltenham after all!
Ryanair Chase 2:50
Envoi Allen won the race last year and he will win it again this year. Banbridge won’t like the ground.
Envoi Allen 5/2 1pt win
Stayers Hurdle 3:30
Teahupoo should have won this year last year and I’m backing him to take the title this year. They reckon he’s been working very well at home this year and is coming here fresh which will hopefully give him enough of a burst of speed to pull away from the others after the last.
Teahupoo 13/8 1pt win
Plate Chase Handicap 4:10
Theatre Man has been my big antepost bet in this one. Yesterday was my single largest profitable day in my life after Langer Dan duly obliged for the Skeltons and was followed by Unexpected Party getting the stable double up for me. However, if Theatre Man wins today yesterday’s record will be trumped so I won’t need any more on at his ever decreasing odds.
Crebilly has a huge chance as does Shakem Up’Arry for Harry Redknapp. There is a small each way shout for Frero Banbou who lost quite convincingly to Harry’s boy last time out but is much better off at the weights.
I’ll be having a few quid on the dangers to hopefully secure some profit.
No official tips but you know who to shout home for me 👍
Mares Novices Hurdle 4:50
Brighterdaysahead was my antepost pick and at 2/1 I have some nice multiples left. Gordon Elliott couldn’t be sweeter about her chances and I expect we will see her at the festival next year. Is it too early to tip her up for the Mares races in 2025? 8/1 for the Mares Chase and 10/1 for the Mares Hurdle…
Today’s is a 2 horse race and don’t be surprised if Jade De Grugy turns out to be the better of the 2 and at 2/1 she might be slightly overpriced. I’m happy with my antepost bets and I certainly wouldn’t put you off backing Brighterdaysahead at evens on the Exchanges.
Kim Muir Chase Handicap 5:30
Inothewayurthinkin looks well handicapped and will be hard to beat. However, Cool Survivor looks as if this has been his target all season and his last run over an inadequate trip smacked of a festival prep. At the prices I’ll be taking a chance on a quick fire double for the Gordon Elliott team. He also runs Where It All Began and Fakir D’alene with big chances. Fakir D’Alene was 4th in this last year and could place at big odds.
I’m sweet on another of the Ben Pauling trained & Harry Redknapp owned runners Bowtogreatness. I don’t think he needs to improve too much on his 2 runs over a similar distance to be in with a chance here.
Cool Survivor 12/1 6 places 0.75pt each way
Bowtogreatness 16/1 6 places 0.75pt each way
Fakir D’Alene 28/1 6 places 0.5pt each way
I might have a couple of small forecast bets in the races I have a few interesting runners but I’ll decide that later on.
